Have you ever had one of those days when you start off doing one thing, which leads to another, which leads to another ...
Well, it all started with the breakfast dishes. When I got up from breakfast, I picked up our dishes and took them to the counter and I was going to put them into the dishwasher but the things in there were clean so I put those away and then put in our dirty dishes. Then I thought I might as well put away the other things on the counter, so I did. Then I thought I might as well wipe the little gritties off the counter, so I did, but when I went to dump my little handful of gritties into the garbage, I remembered that it was garbage / recycle day, so I got out a big garbage bag and went around the house and collected the garbage and got the recycle stuff out of the drawer and took it all out to the truck to go to the dump. And then I remembered that I had some stuff in the garage that also needed to go to the dump so I went out to the garage and got that stuff and put it in the truck too. But that reminded me that I'd been meaning to sweep the garage floors to get rid of the winter crud that falls off the trucks so I did that too and straightened up the work bench while I was at it. And I was gonna head for the dump when I noticed the pick sitting there which reminded me that there had been a rock poking it's little head up out of the driveway this spring so I thought I'd dig it out and save Gryper his usual departure aggravation. That proved to be a little more than I'd been counting on (see picture to the right - that's a yard stick lying on the rock),
but with the help of a pick axe, a pry bar, a chain, and the Jeep, I got it hauled out of the ground and down the hill and off to the side of the driveway to where it now lives happily beside the rhubarb. And then it was off to the dump, and then down to the marina to get a propane tank refill, and then back home again. And then it picked up where it left off, 'cuz when I was coming in the driveway, I noticed the sailboat waiting to go into the water. So I fired up the big Dodge and proceeded to hook up the RV and I hauled it far enough up the driveway that I'd have room to manoeuvre the boat trailer. And then I hitched the boat trailer up to the Jeep and hauled it up to the garage and jiggled it around so I could put it out of the way in the garage but I noticed that the tarp was full of water so I took all the bungee cords off and drained out the water and then put the boat in the garage. And then I had to put the RV back into its parking spot and reset the stabilizer jacks and hook up the electricity again. And then I was going to put the new propane tank away and I remembered that I had recently "liberated" a tank-to-BBQ hose from a friend's garage the other day when we were helping them move, so I went and got it out of the Jeep and got the BBQ out of the RV and hooked it all up and tested to make sure it all worked as planned - and it did. But the BBQ was sitting on top of a 50 gallon drum that is destined for a friend's place which reminded me that I had been meaning cut the end out of it, so I went to the garage and got the saws-all and cut the end out of the drum.
And then I went inside and Wendy asked what I'd been up to and I said "Oh, not much, but I did the breakfast dishes ...".
